Privacy Policy

What information is collected

Apache server logs. IP addresses and the name they resolve to, if any, are probably the only sensitive information. UPDATED I don't currently allow access the processed logs (I use awstats, but limit viewing to just a few folk) and no one gets access to the logs themselves.

I no longer allow user registrations as it got too time consuming to tidy up the spam.

Direct email to me. That information is kept private, unless I receive your permission to publish it first. Generally only program fixes or content amendments would warrant a reference to someone on the relevant page, and that wouldn't include email details unless you request it.

Passing details to third parties

I do not pass on any details to third parties - ever. Anything that is on the public website (statistics and registered user's homepages) could be trawled by others, but I do not actively participate in this. Private correspondence is just that - private.

Google AdSense

I use AdSense on this site but I have opted out of ads that are based on user-interest categories. However Google have recommended that any privacy policies are updated and should include the following information about Google and the DoubleClick DART cookie:

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
  • Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.
